Finlandia

I want to go to Finland.

When did this start? Was it several years ago when we were listening to Finlandia? Maybe. 

Something started me thinking about the Finnish language. Was it at the library? I took out a movie called "The Cuckoo" (Кукушка) I think because it is partially in Russian and deals with the Saami people, whom I've been interested in since I was a teenager and read a National Geographic article about them with this photograph in it.

Soooo.. yeah. In any case, I rented the movie and it was a fascinating and shmexy transcultural romp in Russian, Saami and Finnish languages. Wait a second, it must have started before that because I remember trying to recognize Finnish words.. Oh, what was it?  Was it the first snippet of Irene Huss that I saw?  I thought it took place in Finland or had Irene going to a Finnish mental hospital? I'm really confused as to what started it. It was around the time that I started watching Swedish crime dramas which star women crimefighters. 

Finnish is so beautiful.
